A State High Court in Delta State has remanded content creator Ifeanyi Ogbonna, popularly known as Odogwu Asaba, over the alleged rape and death of 20-year-old Favour Agbro, following the release of autopsy and toxicology results to investigators. A Delta State High Court on Friday, September 4, 2026, ordered the remand of content creator Ifeanyi Ogbonna, popularly known as Odogwu Asaba, at the Ogwashi-Uku Maximum Correctional Centre. The remand relates to the alleged r#pe and subsequent death of 20-year-old Favour Agbro.The court granted the application after investigations into the case were completed and the autopsy and toxicology results were released to the police.  Counsel to the late Favour’s family, Awele Ideal, confirmed the development in a statement. She said Ogbonna has been remanded and will be produced in court as the case proceeds. The matter now rests with the Ministry of Justice through the Attorney-General and the Director of Public Prosecutions.  Ideal, who is handling the case on a pro bono basis, stated that the autopsy and toxicology findings, along with other evidence, have been included in the investigation report prepared for prosecution. She pledged to continue supporting the family and to keep the public updated, adding that “justice is everyone’s business.”The remand was also confirmed by Ossai Ovie Success, Senior Special Assistant to the Delta State Governor on Media. In a Facebook post, he noted that Ogbonna was taken to the correctional facility following the court’s decision and the release of the medical results to investigators.According to earlier reports, police arrested Ogbonna after Favour’s family petitioned the Delta State Commissioner of Police. The young woman had allegedly travelled to Asaba after being invited by Ogbonna for a content-creation training programme advertised on social media. She was reportedly taken to a hotel, where she alleged that Ogbonna r#ped and assaulted her. Upon returning home, Favour told her parents about the incident and recorded a video describing what she claimed had happened. She later ingested a toxic substance and died. The case drew widespread public attention after the video circulated online.The police investigation, directed by the Commissioner of Police to the Effurun Area Command, has now moved from the investigative stage toward formal prosecution. Ogbonna remains presumed innocent until proven guilty by a court of law.
