Portugal’s government opens an additional round of negotiations with Deutsche Lufthansa AG and Air France-KLM regarding the sale of a minority stake in TAP Air Portugal. The government seeks improved offers from both airline groups as part of the wider privatisation process.

The negotiations focus on selling up to 49.9% of TAP’s share capital. Under the proposed structure, 5% of the stake is reserved for TAP employees. While both Bloomberg and Euronews report that the talks are underway and aim to improve the terms on offer, the outlets differ in emphasis—Bloomberg highlights the government’s effort to secure better bids, while Euronews notes that the transaction could be finalised soon.
