Lere Olayinka, spokesman for the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, says Wike’s “nuisance value” helped him become local government chairman and governor twice. He made the statement in reply to remarks by an African Democratic Congress (ADC) chieftain, Ibrahim Modibbo, who criticized Wike’s press conferences as having “nuisance value.”
Modibbo also urges Wike to stay indoors during the 2027 general elections and not harass voters, alleging Wike went around during the local government election to harass people. In responding, Olayinka argues that Wike won election twice and served two terms as governor, contrasting that outcome with the lack of similar electoral success for Modibbo, whom he says has “nuisance value” but has not held elected office.
