In a statement issued from the US embassy in Malaysia, Charge d’Affaires David H. Gamble Jr says the United States does not pursue such aims and dismisses accounts to the contrary as incorrect. PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang is cited as making the allegation, which the US disputes.
