Rivers State’s ADC chairman, Dr Chukwudi Dimkpa, replies to FCT Minister Nyesom Wike’s assertions ahead of the 2027 election, saying “no one wins election by boasting.” In a statement issued in Port Harcourt, Dimkpa criticizes Wike’s claim that he would defeat Rivers politician Rotimi Amaechi by noon on election day.
Dimkpa argues that elections are determined by voters and formal processes, not by public statements or intimidation. He says Rivers people will vote, the votes will be counted, and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) will announce the winner. The ADC chairman also urges voters to choose credible leadership in 2027.
Both outlets report that the disagreement centers on Wike’s predictions about Amaechi’s defeat and the ADC’s call for voters to focus on the electoral process rather than political “boasting.”
