A report says a large share of federal grants under an invitation-only program for community infrastructure upgrades are directed to government-held seats, raising concerns about the scheme’s fairness.
The findings, cited by multiple outlets, come from the Centre for Public Integrity. It reports that more than 70 per cent of grants awarded through the scheme go to electorates held by the Labor Party, rather than being distributed more evenly across seats.
Both sources describe the program as invitation-only and focused on upgrading community infrastructure.
