Tompolo launches PBAT door-to-door campaign for Tinubu in Katsina ahead of 2027

Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo and founder of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement, has launched the initiative in Katsina State to mobilise grassroots support for President Bola Tinubu ahead of the 2027 presidential election.In a statement he personally signed on Monday, Tompolo said the launch featured the inauguration of 34 local government coordinators and the presentation of campaign vehicles to them at the People’s Square in Katsina.Represented at the event by Kestin Pondi, Tompolo explained that the movement was created to strengthen grassroots engagement and promote the Tinubu administration’s programmes.He described the relationship between the President and Katsina as one built on trust, confidence and inclusion, and urged members to take the administration’s message directly to the people.“Our responsibility is to go from door to door, from ward to ward and from community to community, engaging the people and explaining the programmes and achievements of President Tinubu’s administration,” he said.As part of the launch, 34 campaign vehicles were handed over to the coordinators representing the state’s 34 local government areas.Katsina State Governor Dikko Radda assured President Tinubu of the state’s support for his re-election bid. He described Katsina as an APC stronghold with a solid political structure, noting that every elected official in the state belongs to the party and that the state has a special attachment to the President.Radda recalled Tinubu’s role in the process that led to the late President Muhammadu Buhari emerging as the APC candidate and winning the 2015 election. He also praised Tompolo for choosing Katsina as the first northern state to host the launch of the movement, highlighting historical cooperation between northern Nigeria and the Niger Delta, including the Presidential Amnesty Programme under the late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua.Tukur Jikamshi, Katsina State coordinator of the Renewed Hope movement and a former deputy governor, said the APC remains united across the state’s 361 wards and 34 local government areas. He pledged that the existing structure would be used to intensify grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 elections.
