The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) is launching a new program that allows some travelers to pass through airport security and enter the secure gate areas without having a plane ticket. The initiative, called Gateside by TSA PreCheck, is designed for eligible TSA PreCheck members.
According to reports, TSA is rolling out the program at 13 airports. Trusted travelers participating in Gateside by TSA PreCheck can use expedited security processing to access the concourse area even when they are not flying. This can be used for activities such as going to say goodbye to someone departing or for shopping within the secure area.
