Ukraine is contracting for roughly 1,000 Patriot air-defense missiles, while Germany pledges to supply PAC-2 interceptors from its own Bundeswehr reserves, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius says. Pistorius says Germany will deliver Patriot missiles to Ukraine from its national stocks.
The announcements come ahead of the 36th meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group (in the Ramstein format), held Tuesday as a video conference. In addition to Germany’s pledge, Ukraine’s Defense Minister Yevhen Khmara says contracts are being signed with partners for the supply of about 1,000 Patriot missiles.
The outlets largely align on the scale of the planned procurement (around 1,000 missiles) and Germany’s role in providing PAC-2 missiles from Bundeswehr stockpiles.
