Bloomsbury Publishing, the publisher behind the “Harry Potter” series, announces plans for founder Nigel Newton to hand over the chief executive role he has held for about four decades. Reporting on the company’s update, outlets say Newton, 71, will remain in the CEO position for up to two more years as part of a planned succession process.
The moves also include changes to the board. The company says Chairman John Bason will assume additional responsibilities, becoming deputy chairman and senior independent director. In that role, Bason leads the search for a new chief executive.
