Maharashtra’s government announces a toll exemption for vehicles carrying Ganesh devotees to the Konkan region during Ganeshotsav 2026. The waiver applies for travel from September 11 to 27 and is intended to reduce costs for people going from Mumbai, Navi Mumbai and other parts of the state to their native places in Konkan.
The order, issued through a Public Works Department circular, covers specific routes including the Mumbai–Goa National Highway (NH-66) and Konkan-bound roads, along with access across the Atal Setu (Sewri–Nhava Sheva). The government also extends the benefit to Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) buses transporting devotees to Konkan. To use the waiver, eligible vehicles must display special stickers reading “Ganeshotsav 2026 Konkan Darshan,” including the vehicle registration number and driver’s name, and the passes are valid for the return journey.
Outlets also note that devotees can obtain passes from police and Regional Transport Office (RTO) channels. While one report emphasizes the operational steps and coordination for sticker availability, another highlights the overall travel window and eligibility for both private vehicles and state buses; both describe the same routes and process for claiming the exemption.
