Samsung Electronics says it has partnered with French AI startup Mistral AI to enhance its semiconductor operations. The company announces the agreement during a bilateral summit in Paris between South Korean President Lee Jae Myung and French President Emmanuel Macron. Samsung says it will integrate Mistral AI’s services and solutions into its semiconductor operations.

Under the partnership, Samsung plans to deploy on-premises AI models to support semiconductor design and manufacturing, including building customized AI models for internal use. The outlets say Mistral AI, founded in 2023, has developed large language models, including Mistral Large, and is supplying a software suite for deployment within Samsung’s facilities.

While both sources focus on the same operational goal—using Mistral’s models internally to address increasing complexity in chip development—one outlet emphasizes the role of improving semiconductor production processes, and the other highlights the deployment of Mistral’s flagship model across manufacturing and engineering teams.
