Gemini receives a full Major Payment Institution licence from the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) to provide crypto-related payment services. The licence allows Gemini’s local entity to offer services involving digital payment tokens and cross-border money transfers.

The approval follows an in-principle licence MAS granted in October 2024. NDTV reports that Gemini has operated in Singapore since 2020 and already provides spot trading, custody, and over-the-counter (OTC) services. Cointelegraph adds that the authorization permits Gemini to provide digital payment token and cross-border money transfer services without standard transaction-volume limits. Together, the reports describe a transition from an initial approval to full authorization, expanding Gemini’s regulated payments capabilities in Singapore while building on its existing business presence.
