The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) says it plans to establish voting centres for internally displaced persons (IDPs) in nine local government areas of Plateau State ahead of the 2027 general elections, so displaced residents can cast ballots.
INEC’s Resident Electoral Commissioner for Plateau State, Oliver Agundu, made the disclosure during a stakeholders’ meeting in Jos. The reports describe the effort as part of INEC’s preparations for the next election cycle, with voting centres designated specifically to serve IDP communities across the state’s affected local government areas.
