Shakti Pumps (India) Ltd shares rise sharply after the company receives a Letter of Empanelment from Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) for solar water pumping systems. The stock gains as much as about 12% during Thursday’s trading session, reflecting investor reaction to the order announcement.
The project is under MSEDCL’s Magel Tyala Saur Krushi Pump Yojana and covers 10,000 off-grid solar photovoltaic water pumping systems across Maharashtra. The pumps come in capacities of 3 HP, 5 HP and 7.5 HP. The contract value is ₹216.64 crore excluding GST and about ₹235.92 crore including GST.
Both outlets say Shakti Pumps is responsible for design, manufacture, supply, transportation, installation, testing and commissioning. Execution is required within 60 days from the issue of the work order or notice to proceed. The Economic Times also adds that the order is awarded to a domestic entity and states there is no promoter or promoter-group interest in MSEDCL and no related-party transactions, providing additional corporate governance context. The Free Press Journal focuses primarily on order size, scope, and timeline.
