Maharashtra’s State Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell adds 550 seats—MBBS and BDS from three private medical institutions—for the second round of the Centralised Admission Process (CAP) for NEET UG 2026. The update increases availability for candidates participating in CAP Round 2.
The added seats come from N.K.P. Salve Medical College, Dr Vithalrao Vikhe Patil Foundation’s Medical College, and Ranjit Deshmukh Dental/Medical College. Sources report that the total includes 400 MBBS seats and 100 BDS seats, with specific allocations across the three institutions: 250 MBBS at N.K.P. Salve, 200 MBBS at Dr Vithalrao Vikhe Patil Foundation’s Medical College, and 100 BDS at Ranjit Deshmukh Dental College.
Both outlets state the seat distribution follows a quota split. They say 40% of the intake is reserved for Maharashtra candidates and the remaining 60% is filled at the All-India level, with a 15% NRI reservation within that All-India share. Candidates can modify preferences until September 12, and they are advised to follow the CET Cell’s notification and instructions for CAP Round 2.
