A woman and her newborn die following delivery after treatment at a private hospital in Uttar Pradesh, according to reports by Times of India and NDTV. The hospital had previously been sealed by the administration and health department, but services continued.

Both outlets say the facility had a lock at its main entrance. Despite this, the hospital is reported to have been operating through an alternate passage or backdoor. After the deaths came to public attention, authorities seal the hospital again.

Times of India adds that an investigation is underway into how the woman received treatment at the sealed facility and how operations continued in spite of restrictions. NDTV similarly focuses on the alleged alternate-entrance operation and the decision to seal the premises again after the incident is revealed.
