A man in Mumbai is alleged to have been beaten to death by his friend after an argument over a clothes bag dispute, police said. The incident takes place in Goregaon West, where a 26-year-old man, Suraj Dole, is later found dead after being assaulted.
According to the FIR registered by Goregaon police, the argument happens around 11:30 pm on September 8 near King Studio on SV Road. The accused is identified as Babasaheb alias Subodh Waghmare, 37. The dispute escalates into violence after Waghmare allegedly confronts another person and claims Suraj used his belongings without permission, including taking the clothes bag without asking. The FIR states Suraj abuses Waghmare during the argument, after which Waghmare allegedly assaults him with his hands and then strikes him with a paving stone.
NDTV reports that during the argument Suraj abuses Waghmare, and Waghmare attacks him with his hands. The Free Press Journal adds more specifics, including the involvement of a third person who intervenes and the later registration of a murder case with specified Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita sections.
