Anambra police arrest 36-year-old over alleged child sexual abuse after viral video

The Anambra State Police Command has arrested a 36-year-old woman, Anulika Onyeanusia, in Onitsha over an alleged case of child p^rn^graph¥ after a disturbing video surfaced online.Police spokesperson, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, confirmed the arrest in a statement on Thursday, noting that operatives also rescued four children aged two, three, six, and nine during the operation. S^x t^ys and other items relevant to the investigation were recovered.Ikenga said the suspect is in custody while investigations continue to determine the extent of her involvement and whether others were complicit. He added that the suspect’s husband is also being interrogated.Commissioner of Police, CP Nnanna Oji, described the act as unacceptable, stressing that the exploitation of children is intolerable. He directed a thorough investigation and assured that the rescued children would receive care, counselling, and protection through child-support agencies.The Command commended vigilante operatives, bloggers, and residents whose information aided the arrest. It also pledged to safeguard the privacy and dignity of the rescued children throughout the process.This case brews growing concerns about child exploitation and the role of digital platforms in exposing such crimes, while highlighting the importance of community vigilance in protecting vulnerable minors.
