Apple is rolling out two new health-related features in India for compatible devices. First, Apple Watch sleep apnea notifications are being introduced for eligible models. Apple Watch uses motion data, including accelerometer-based tracking of subtle wrist movements during sleep, to detect patterns that may be linked to sleep apnea. When irregular breathing-related disturbances occur repeatedly over multiple nights, the watch can flag a potential case. Users must wear the watch consistently for several nights to receive an initial assessment, with nightly breathing disturbance data logged in the iPhone’s Health app. The feature is supported on Apple Watch Series 9, Series 10, and Series 11, as well as Apple Watch Ultra 2 and Apple Watch Ultra 3.

Second, Apple is enabling a hearing test feature on compatible AirPods Pro models in India. The hearing test works when users connect AirPods Pro 2 or AirPods Pro 3 to an iPhone running iOS 18.1 or later, or an iPad running iPadOS 18.1 or later. The test plays tones at multiple frequencies and sound levels in each ear, with results stored in the Health app and sharable with a healthcare provider.
