West Wits Mining reports securing A$74.4 million in funding through tier-one South African lenders to support a production ramp-up at its flagship Qala Shallows gold mine. The company says the financing is intended to help accelerate work at the project as it moves from development toward increased output.
In a related update, West Wits also says it has completed its “1 West decline” at Qala Shallows and has reached what it describes as historic high-grade stopes. The company adds that this milestone could reduce mine development timelines, potentially cutting up to a year off the schedule, depending on further operational and development progress.
Across the reports, the focus remains on both the capital secured and the technical progress at Qala Shallows, with both developments presented as steps toward bringing the mine into a more advanced, ready-to-produce stage.
