Prime Minister Brigadier Mark Phillips officially launches the ninth edition of the Prime Minister’s T20 Softball Cup at the Gandhi Youth Organisation (GYO) Ground on Woolford Avenue in Georgetown. The tournament is scheduled to run for three days from October 2 to 4, 2026, and is organised by the Georgetown Softball Cricket League Inc.
According to reporting, 24 teams are registered for the competition. Guyana Chronicle adds that Phillips promises to increase prize incentives for the women’s category, including additional household appliances as part of the rewards. The outlets also note that the matches take place across venues in Georgetown and conclude with activities tied to the tournament’s final days. While both accounts confirm the launch details and the date range, they differ in emphasis: one highlights the event’s registration and launch at GYO Ground, while the other focuses more on the planned prize package and incentive structure.
