Variety reports that the studio’s figures for domestic performance are projected to bring “The Odyssey” to about $601.2 million in the United States and Canada after a reported weekend haul. It also states that international earnings total about $1.083 billion, as the film continues to play in theaters.
The Washington Times likewise reports Universal’s top-ever status for the film, describing an overall worldwide gross of about $1.68 billion. While both outlets agree on the milestone and the film’s broad earnings, they differ in how they break out domestic, international, and total grosses based on the timing of their reported estimates.
