Bauchi State Police arrest a 53-year-old man, Gambo Hassan, also known as “Anahaka,” over alleged kidnapping, rape, and armed robbery, among other offences, in Bauchi metropolis. Police say he was arrested on 11 September 2026 at about 8:45 p.m. by operatives. He is also accused of unlawful possession of an offensive weapon.
According to reports, Hassan allegedly used a “fake okada” (motorcycle taxi rider) disguise to lure or trap women, with one account stating that 35 women were involved. Vanguard and Daily Post describe the case as connected to multiple violent crimes, but they focus on overlapping elements: the arrest details, the suspect’s identity, and the alleged offences. Both outlets attribute the allegations to the Bauchi State Police Command, which is handling the matter as an investigation and potential prosecution.
