Suspected bandits attack the base of Operation Burst, a joint security outfit in Oyo State, and cart away property in an incident reported to occur between 5:30 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. on Sunday along the Igbeti/Igboho road, connecting Olorunsogo and Oorelope local government areas.

Operation Burst involves personnel from the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) and the Nigerian Army. The outfit was established by late former governor Abiola Ajimobi. The chairman of Olorunsogo LGA, Kazeem Olayanju, confirms the incident and says no casualties are recorded. Reports add that attackers burn the security post and an abandoned vehicle and take items including a generator and a motorcycle. Both outlets describe the attack as part of wider concerns about insecurity in parts of Oyo State and the vulnerability of security formations.

The coverage aligns on the time, location, unit involved, and reported damage and theft. Neither outlet provides further details on the attackers’ identities or motives, beyond “suspected bandits,” or any immediate arrests.
