A person is jailed for following a woman through Sydney’s central business district for about 12 minutes before dragging her into a dark corner near a cathedral and attempting to rape her.

Reporting across outlets says the offender was described as acting in an “unprecedented and aggressive” manner. All accounts describe the attack as involving stalking, physical intimidation and an attempted sexual assault in a public CBD area.

The coverage also includes that the offender attributes their behaviour to being “possessed by [an] evil spirit.” Outlets focus on the same core facts of the incident, while phrasing and emphasis vary slightly in characterisations of the conduct and in how they describe the offender’s explanation for their actions.
