Gunmen kill nine passengers and others in Plateau State attacks

At least 15 people were killed in coordinated attacks by gunmen across communities in Jos South, Mangu, and Riyom local government areas of Plateau State on Sunday night.Nine of the victims were passengers travelling to Jos. Suspected terrorists opened fire on their vehicle in Dungus community, Jos South Local Government Area, around 9:40 p.m. Among those killed was a member of Operation Rainbow.Rwang Tengwong, spokesman for the Berom Youth Moulders, confirmed the incident. He said the attackers fired on the vehicle carrying the passengers, and some of the injured later died in hospital after being rushed there for treatment.A resident, Musa Dauda, also confirmed the attack, noting that some wounded passengers died while receiving care, while others remain in hospital.In a separate incident in Mangu Local Government Area, suspected gunmen attacked Vodni in Pushit District, killing two people. Four others were injured by gunfire and are receiving treatment in Mangu town.Two more people were reportedly killed in an attack at Tahoos in Riyom Local Government Area around the same time.Officials from the Plateau State Police Command and Operation Enduring Peace had not responded to inquiries about the incidents at the time of the original report.
