A local government chairman in Delta State dismisses claims that Governor Sheriff Oborevwori ordered the removal or arrest of a serving councillor. Chiamaka Solomon Possible Ajede, chairman of Ukwauni (Ukwuani) Local Government Area, says the councillor’s detention is tied to ongoing police action rather than any directive from the governor.

Ajede makes the clarification in response to reports alleging that the governor had ordered the arrest or removal of councillor Chukwuemeka Ken. According to the LG chairman, the councillor’s situation arises from criminal proceedings instituted by the police. The two outlets report the same denial, with both pointing to law enforcement processes as the reason behind the councillor’s detention rather than state-level intervention.
