Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S27 Pro and Galaxy S27 Ultra are reportedly set to use Samsung’s next-generation “M16” OLED panel. Multiple reports, citing industry sources, say the upgrade targets better brightness performance, improved power efficiency, longer display lifespan, and more accurate color reproduction.

The M16 OLED is also described as a technology that may already be planned for other upcoming devices. One source says Samsung and iQOO confirmed in China that the M16 OLED will be used in the iQOO 16, suggesting Samsung’s rollout extends beyond the Galaxy S27 line.

Separately, NDTV reports that the S27 Ultra’s display may not match the most ambitious rumored specifications. It notes the panel could fall short of targets such as 10,000 nits peak brightness and a 165Hz refresh rate, with Samsung potentially emphasizing hardware-level privacy display features instead. Overall, the outlets agree on the M16 OLED but differ on how performance specs and priorities are expected to be balanced.
