Prince Harry and Meghan Markle reportedly pull their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, from their school just days into the new term, after discussing the arrangement with their security team. Multiple outlets report the family has changed schools after term begins last week.

Evening Standard and Metro cite security concerns as the reason, including issues tied to protecting the children during the school run. Metro reports that traffic and difficulties factoring in the drive during term time affected whether the school run could be operated securely, despite security teams having reviewed the school in the summer. The New York Post likewise frames the move as being prompted by security considerations.

A spokesman quoted by Metro says the decision is based on the practicalities of the current arrangements discussed with the family’s security team. The spokesman adds that teachers and staff remain appreciated and that the move should not be read as criticism of the school or the care provided there. The outlets also note the children are joining another school locally for their next week after moving from the US at the end of summer.
