A Keralite social media vlogger who had previously claimed that Mujahideen threatened her with arrest in Afghanistan says she is now safe and that the threat did not lead to her detention. In a new post, the woman says she escaped the arrest-related situation and presents her experience as having been tied to travel restrictions.
Both outlets report that the vlogger, who runs the Facebook page “Backpacker Arunima,” says she was denied a permit in Jalalabad because she was travelling alone, citing local rules. She adds that “according to the law of this country, a woman cannot travel alone,” framing her earlier movement and the permit denial as key to what happened.
While the earlier claim centered on an alleged arrest threat, the newer update focuses on her current safety and the administrative and legal constraints she says she encountered. The reporting in the two sources aligns on her statements, the cited reason for permit denial, and her assertion that she is safe now.
