Spotify is rolling out a feature called “Reserved” that sets aside concert tickets for some Spotify Premium subscribers it identifies as an artist’s most dedicated fans. Spotify says the goal is to reduce the stress and unpredictability of public on-sales by letting eligible fans purchase tickets during a defined early window. The program uses fan activity on the platform—such as streams and shares—to select recipients, and it holds up to two tickets per selected fan. Spotify also notes that demand will exceed available seats, so not every dedicated fan will receive an offer.

In the United States, Spotify says the program begins this summer. Select artists will be able to use Reserved to reserve tickets for their top fans, though Spotify does not provide specific details on which artists will participate or how many tickets artists will reserve. Spotify says it has partnered with Live Nation as part of a multiyear agreement for the initiative.
