Federal authorities say they searched a luxury apartment building in downtown Los Angeles and found about 42 kilograms of fentanyl, along with other items, leading to two arrests. The Los Angeles Times reports that agents also found firearms and a small alligator at the Olympic + Hill building, where suspects are charged with intent to distribute fentanyl.
The New York Post describes the same incident, saying agents discovered an alligator in a small tank and a gold-plated gun during the operation. It also characterizes the apartment as allegedly used to store and move bulk fentanyl as a “stash house.” While both outlets agree on the fentanyl quantity, the downtown luxury location, the discovery of an alligator, and the arrests, they differ in the emphasis on specific items described and the characterization of the apartment’s role.
