Former Ekiti State governor Ayo Fayose says manipulating election results in Nigeria has become increasingly difficult. Speaking on Channels Television, Fayose says “to rig elections is now difficult” and adds it is “very difficult,” in remarks made on Tuesday night.
Fayose, a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) member who is working with the Bola Tinubu-led All Progressives Congress (APC) government, also discusses expectations for the 2027 presidential election. He claims President Tinubu will secure at least 12 million votes, urging viewers to “go and write it down.” Recent reporting also links his comments to his political role under the Tinubu administration, including his appointment as chairman of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA) board.
