The KwaZulu-Natal (KZN) Legislature declares the seat held by Cynthia Mbali Shinga vacant following a High Court ruling. The party seat is now treated as unoccupied, and the Legislature moves to fill it through the next available candidate on the relevant party list.
According to the reporting, the National Freedom Party (NFP) seat replacement process will proceed to the next person on its list. Ivan Barnes is described as the next candidate previously lined up to take up the seat, following Shinga’s removal from her legislative position.
