A political support group holds a 600-person solidarity walk in Lagos to mobilise grassroots backing for President Bola Tinubu and other All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Both outlets report that the event is organised by a group described as the Azerbaijan Movement. The walk draws APC members, women leaders, youths and other supporters, who march through major streets in Ifako-Ijaiye Local Government Area and nearby routes. The participants start from Elliot and end at Nationwide, according to one outlet.
In statements accompanying the march, the group’s coordinator, Abayomi Omotayo, says the purpose is to demonstrate support for the APC and its candidates and to emphasise commitment to grassroots mobilisation before the 2027 polls. Sources also link the walk to support for Tinubu’s re-election bid, characterising the president’s policies as laying foundations for sustainable development and urging residents to back his administration for another term.
