India’s cricket board (BCCI) announces squads for an upcoming home series against the West Indies and for the Irani Cup. For the West Indies tour of India, Shubman Gill leads the ODI team, while Shreyas Iyer captains the T20I side.

The ODI squad includes Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Ravindra Jadeja, Kuldeep Yadav and others such as Dhruv Jurel, KL Rahul, Mohammed Siraj and Yashasvi Jaiswal. Auqib Nabi and Naman Dhir receive maiden ODI call-ups. Sources report Rishabh Pant is not selected for the ODI squad, and Dhruv Jurel is included instead; KL Rahul is also available as a wicket-keeper.

Pant is named captain of the Rest of India squad for the Irani Cup against Ranji Trophy champions Jammu & Kashmir, with Sarfaraz Khan as his deputy. The West Indies series includes three ODIs starting September 27, followed by five T20Is from October 6. One outlet also notes Jadeja’s return to the ODI group. Separate squad updates mention Varun Chakravarthy being ruled out of other assignments due to a side strain, with replacements named by the BCCI.
