State-owned NMDC says it has recovered a 27.29-carat diamond from its Panna mining project in Madhya Pradesh. The company describes the find as its second-largest diamond recovered from the mine so far.
Both reports note the Panna mine has previously produced a larger gem-quality diamond of 34.37 carats, discovered in 2010. That earlier diamond was later sold for ₹3.2 crore. While the two outlets agree on the size of the new recovery and its relative standing, they differ slightly in emphasis: one frames the discovery as NMDC’s second-largest at Panna, while the other focuses on the recovery itself and reiterates details about the largest diamond previously found and sold.
