Gunmen carry out two separate attacks on Honduras’ northern coast, killing at least 25 people, authorities say. Separately, the reports note that Honduras has a high level of violence against environmental defenders. An environmental leader, Juan Lopez, was killed in 2024, and figures cited in the coverage indicate multiple killings of environmentalists in 2024 and the previous year. Authorities have not detailed motives in the accounts provided.
