UBTECH, a Chinese humanoid robot developer, has begun production at a new factory designed to build industrial humanoid robots at large scale, with the company saying it produces one completed robot every ten minutes. The plant started operations on September 12 in Liuzhou, in China’s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, and UBTECH frames it as a manufacturing facility in which “robots build robots.”

The facility covers about 14,000 square metres and is described as an “intelligent manufacturing” site with a reported annual capacity of 10,000 units. UBTECH says it primarily manufactures its Walker S series for industrial use and the Cruzr series for service and interactive applications. The company and partner Siemens Digital Industries Software say the plant uses digital twin technology and a digital “smart brain” to manage scheduling, materials distribution, and quality monitoring, with traceability through unique serial numbers. Robots on the shop floor, including Cruzr models, support tasks such as unloading and material handling, while final assembly uses a mix of collaborative robotic arms and automated logistics.
