Moeve starts construction on the Andalusian Green Hydrogen Valley in southern Spain, with an intended electrolyzer capacity of up to 2 GW. The project is based in the provinces of Huelva and Cádiz and is designed to supply renewable hydrogen for industrial uses and for the production of renewable fuels and ammonia. The operator says the development could produce up to 300,000 metric tons of renewable hydrogen per year.
Euronews reports that construction begins with a first phase of 300 MW electrolysis, backed by investment of more than €1 billion, and that the project is expected to create more than 8,000 jobs during its development. PV Magazine describes the wider programme as a €3 billion effort across multiple hubs.
