Apple is charging a higher out-of-warranty fee to replace the battery in the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max in the United States. Multiple outlets report that Apple’s updated pricing sets the battery replacement cost at $129 for these models.
The increase is presented as a change from the $119 fee Apple previously charged for battery replacements on earlier “Pro” generations, such as the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro. MacRumors notes that iPhone 18 Pro models have larger batteries, which is cited as the reason the fee rises by $10.
Both outlets also point to AppleCare+ coverage as the main exception to the higher fee. With AppleCare+, Apple replaces the battery without extra charge as long as the battery’s capacity falls below 80%, which can be checked in the iPhone’s Battery Health settings. Across coverage, the update is tied to Apple’s service and repair price information rather than a change in warranty terms.
