IIIT-Hyderabad states it has not organised the screening and that neither the institute nor any recognised students’ bodies hosted or arranged a screening of an uncertified film. At the same time, reporting indicates there were plans for a screening at NLSIU Bengaluru, which is postponed amid opposition, including objections from ABVP. Across outlets, the central focus is the CBFC’s compliance concern and the institute’s clarification that it is not the organizer.
While one outlet emphasises the CBFC’s specific legal framing and the resulting student decision to halt the event, the other stresses IIIT-Hyderabad’s position that it is not linked to the screening and does not host uncertified films.
