CBSE begins accepting the List of Candidates (LOC) and examination forms for Class 12 special examinations for students in West Asian countries from September 22 to September 26, 2026. The special exams are for 40 Class 12 subjects that were cancelled earlier in 2026 due to prevailing circumstances. CBSE says the special examination results will replace the performances declared earlier under an assessment scheme.
The decision applies to eligible regular and private candidates and covers schools and students in Bahrain, Iran, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the UAE. Outlets also report that the exercise follows a Supreme Court direction referenced in CBSE’s notification (CWP-815 of 2026). CBSE states that students will take the exams only in these affected countries, with no exams planned elsewhere, and it will not grant any extension beyond the submission window. Free Press Journal further adds conditions such as no subject changes, no eligibility for those absent in the 2026 main exams, and no post-result declaration facilities. The detailed examination dates and schedule are to be announced after submissions.
