Anambra State says repayments for loans it attributes to former Governor Peter Obi’s administration are still being deducted from the state’s monthly Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) revenue. The state’s Commissioner for Information and Value Reorientation, Law Mefor, makes the point in comments reported by multiple outlets.
Mefor says the deductions are made to service the loans and that some of the facilities were guaranteed by the Federal Government, but that does not mean the money is a grant or does not require repayment. The outlets frame the disclosure as a response to questions about the nature of the funds and whether repayments remain active.
