A doctor at Tejas Hospital in Lucknow is accused of sexually assaulting a female patient inside an operation theatre during treatment, according to multiple reports. The woman, who is described as a class 12 student, was admitted for epilepsy-related treatment. Police allege the doctor sedates her with an injection, then calls her into the operation theatre alone and assaults her after administering what is described as an intoxicating or sedative dose.
Police have registered a case and detained the doctor for questioning, and later arrested him. Officials also mention involvement of hospital management: one report describes the accused as both a hospital operator and a doctor. Following the allegations, the hospital is sealed and steps are initiated to suspend the doctor’s medical license. The investigation is ongoing, with authorities examining the circumstances leading to the patient being taken into the operation theatre and whether hospital staff were kept away at the time of the incident.
