Samsung is rolling out Google Photos integration in its Galaxy Gallery app, adding a new way to back up photos and videos to Google’s cloud without leaving the app. A recent update (reported as Gallery version 15.9.01.7) includes an option such as “Sync photos and videos,” which connects Gallery to Google Photos for ongoing backup.

The change comes as Samsung’s existing OneDrive syncing support is set to end. Multiple outlets report that OneDrive photo and video synchronization in Samsung Gallery will stop on September 30 of this year, after which users must switch to another available backup option. Android Central and NDTV both frame the Google Photos feature rollout as the immediate replacement for the departing OneDrive sync functionality.

Both sources describe similar user-facing steps and positioning: the Google Photos sync lives inside Samsung Gallery, while OneDrive integration is scheduled to be discontinued at the same date. They primarily differ in emphasis, with one focusing on the workflow inside the app and the other highlighting the update details and the end of the OneDrive partnership timeline.
