Atletico Madrid beat Real Madrid 2-1, and manager Diego Simeone comments on the role of Nigerian forward Ademola Lookman after the match. Lookman comes on as a substitute for Álex Baena in the closing stages, and sources report Simeone addressed his performance and what he needs from the winger going forward.
Across the reports, Simeone is portrayed as supportive while urging Lookman to contribute more consistently. The outlets also link the discussion to Lookman’s broader situation, including references to his earlier form and to his availability for Nigeria’s AFCON qualifiers. One outlet frames Simeone’s remarks around Atletico needing Lookman, while another highlights Simeone’s confidence in him as a potential one-on-one threat, even as some describe his start to the current campaign as slow.
