Former Karnataka minister Ramanath Rai is injured after his SUV is hit by a private bus in Udupi district, according to reports. The collision occurs on the Karkala–Moodbidire route, with NDTV and other outlets describing the bus travelling from Karkala toward Moodbidri before crashing into Rai’s vehicle.

Times of India adds that the incident takes place on Sunday afternoon in or near Sanur village, within the Karkala Town police limits. The outlet reports that Rai’s personal assistant also suffers injuries, including a right-leg fracture. Both Rai and the personal assistant are taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, the reports say.

While the accounts broadly agree on the parties involved and the basic circumstances of the collision, the outlets differ in the level of location detail and the specific injury descriptions. NDTV focuses on Rai’s injury and the nature of the crash, while Times of India provides more information about the assistant’s leg injury and the police jurisdiction.
