A 23-year-old man is seriously injured after a cement block falls from an under-construction Metro bridge in the Mira Road/Kashimira area. The man is standing on the roadside to answer a phone call when the block strikes him. The incident happens near a roadside landmark outside Akshit Bar.

According to reports, he suffers severe head injuries and lies on the road for nearly an hour before being found and taken to Wockhardt Hospital in Mira Road, where he undergoes surgery. One outlet says large vehicles parked along the roadside may have prevented passers-by from noticing him sooner.

Local residents raise concerns about safety at the Metro construction site. Both accounts describe it as part of a broader pattern of falling-object incidents reported previously, prompting calls for stronger safety measures around ongoing works.
